We were delighted to host an exciting Year 3 and 4 Key Steps Gymnastics event, welcoming pupils from North Mundham Primary School St Richard's Catholic Primary School Kingsham Primary School and Chichester Free School It was a fantastic morning of energy, enthusiasm and teamwork, with all pupils demonstrating impressive balance, coordination and determination as they worked through their routines. The standard on display was excellent, and it was wonderful to see so many young gymnasts performing with confidence and big smiles. A special mention must go to our brilliant student leaders, who supported the event throughout and finished the session with a short gymnastics showcase of their own. Their performance was a great inspiration for the younger pupils and a fantastic example of leadership in action. We are incredibly proud of everyone who took part and grateful to the staff who supported the event. We look forward to continuing to build strong partnerships with these schools across a range of sports - and we’re excited to grow this event even bigger in the future! #WeTHRIVEatCHS

Our Chichester High School Sixth Form students rounded off half term in style with a fantastic Valentine’s celebration! ❤️ The event was a great success, raising over £100 through students wearing red and purchasing roses and Valentine’s cards for friends and loved ones. The atmosphere was full of positivity and community spirit. A big congratulations to Jacob Sprules, who won the “Guess How Many Sweets in the Jar” competition! It has been an incredibly busy week for Year 12 alongside their Apprenticeship Fair, and they have been outstanding role models and ambassadors of our CHS Thrive values throughout. After half term, our Year 13 students begin their Gold PPEs. We wish them every success - we know they will continue to THRIVE! Funds raised will be split between St Wilfrid's Hospice and the school fund. #WeTHRIVEatCHS

The Maths Department’s Paint by Numbers Club has quickly become a real success story. What began as a simple idea to offer a calm, creative space has grown into a well-attended and much-loved activity, with students returning week after week. The structured nature of paint by numbers has proved especially appealing: it’s accessible to everyone, requires no prior artistic experience, and offers a satisfying sense of progress and achievement. The club has created a relaxed, inclusive atmosphere where students can unwind, chat, and focus in a different way from the usual classroom setting. Many have commented on how enjoyable it is to switch off, concentrate on colour and pattern, and take pride in completing a finished piece. It has also been a subtle but effective way to build confidence, perseverance, and attention to detail - skills that naturally complement mathematical thinking. While popularity has meant the sessions can sometimes feel busy and materials need careful organisation, these are positive challenges that reflect just how well the club is going. Overall, the Paint by Numbers Club is going really well, highlighting the Maths Department’s commitment to supporting wellbeing, creativity, and community alongside academic learning. Come and join in - Wednesday lunch times in S14 with Miss Rahman - open to all year groups. #WeTHRIVEatCHS

Our Chichester High School Sixth Form Art and Photography trip to London was a great success and an enjoyable experience, despite the rainy weather. We began with a visit to the Wes Anderson exhibition at the Design Museum, where we explored his distinctive visual style through original props, costumes, and storyboards. His creative use of symmetry, colour, and carefully composed scenes provided us with plenty of inspiration for our own projects. We also visited the Victoria and Albert Museum, where we explored a wide range of art, design, and photography collections. Some students even managed to fit in the Marie Antoinette exhibition during our time there. In the evening, we spent time in Covent Garden, soaking up the lively atmosphere and taking photographs inspired by street scenes and reflections. #WeTHRIVEatCHS

A "Spooktacular" Success: Year 11 Take on Macbeth! We are incredibly proud of our 50 Year 11 students who visited The King’s Theatre yesterday for a high-energy performance of Macbeth: Revision on Tour. While Shakespeare on the page can sometimes feel like a puzzle, seeing it "brought to life" on stage clearly made all the difference. Our students returned with a newfound clarity on the Bard’s darkest tragedy, perfectly timed for their upcoming exams. By seeing the play performed live, the students moved beyond memorizing quotes to truly understanding the emotion and pacing of the dra Once again, our Year 11s proved themselves to be exceptional ambassadors. Their conduct at the theatre was impeccable, earning praise for their focus and maturity. Thank you and Good luck in your upcoming Literature GCSE. Mrs Peel #WeTHRIVEatCHS

In the final forest session at the Goodwood Education Trust this half term, the students had a wonderfully busy week. They enjoyed making pom-poms and practising their pancake-flipping skills before sitting down to savour them with a wide variety of delicious fillings. It has been an eventful half term, with a real mix of weather conditions - from heavy rain and strong winds to crisp, dry sunny days with typical January temperatures. As we finished, the first bluebells were beginning to push through the ground, and we look forward to returning after half term to see further signs of spring - and perhaps even more baby lambs too! #WeTHRIVEatCHS

Students in Year 12 enjoyed a very positive and inspiring visit to the National Apprenticeship Fair at Sandown Park Racecourse in Esher, Surrey today. During the event, they explored a wide range of interactive stalls, many of which offered hands-on STEM activities and insights into civil engineering, construction, digital technologies, healthcare, and advanced manufacturing. The fair provided an excellent opportunity for students to speak directly with apprenticeship providers, employers, and training organisations about post-18 pathways. They were able to ask detailed questions about entry requirements, career progression, and the practical realities of different industries. It was fantastic to see our students engaging confidently, showing curiosity, and taking real ownership of their future career plans. The experience has given many of them a clearer understanding of the diverse and exciting opportunities available through apprenticeships. Speaking with people working in different roles helped students learn more about a range of possible career routes. #WeTHRIVEatCHS

What a fantastic afternoon at Kingsham Primary School preparing our Year 3 and 4 students for the Key Steps Gymnastics competition tomorrow, which we are very proud to be hosting. The hall was full of energy as the children worked hard to refine their routines, practise key skills and build their confidence ahead of the big day. It was brilliant to see their focus, determination and teamwork on display as they supported one another and rose to the challenge. We were incredibly fortunate to be supported by Gabi, one of our amazing sports ambassadors, who was joined by Grace and Ellie. All three were absolutely outstanding - demonstrating routines, sharing their expertise and encouraging every child to believe in themselves. Their enthusiasm and guidance made a real difference, and the children learned so much from the experience. We can’t wait to see them shine in tomorrow’s competition! Volunteering like this helps students gain experience that can support future applications and career choices. #WeTHRIVEatCHS

Forest School has been very muddy, with plenty of puddles for the students to enjoy splashing through on their way to the farm. At the farm, the students had the opportunity to see and handle some of the new lambs from the Southdown sheep. They are a very cute breed with distinctive, interesting faces, and the students were excited to meet them. In the barn, we also saw some of the first lambs from the Leicester cross sheep, although many of them were still too young to be handled at this stage. The students found the experience fascinating and most took turns holding or gently stroking the lambs. From the sheep, we then visited the Saddleback pigs, which were around six weeks old. After our time at the farm, we returned to the club area where the students enjoyed a wide range of activities, along with food and hot chocolate to warm up after a muddy and enjoyable session. #WeTHRIVEatCHS Goodwood Education Trust

This week, Bella, Isla, Thomas and Jasper ran a second fantastic Leaders Workshop with Miss Honour at Bartons Primary School The students confidently demonstrated and taught the Barton’s Bronze Ambassadors a warm-up, two drills, and shared some valuable top tips for leading sessions.
