During our Chichester High School TKAT ACE visit to Cobnor Activities Centre Trust, pupils had the opportunity to choose between land and water activities. The group that selected water activities began their adventure by changing into waterproof overclothes and life jackets, with some also wearing swim shoes. They then travelled by speedboat out to the sailing boats. There were two boats on the water, which created an exciting and friendly sense of competition between the groups. Before setting off, one of the pupils carefully went to the front of the boat to untie the buoy and unhook the chain. Throughout the session, all pupils were given the chance to steer the keel boat, which they greatly enjoyed. The group spent around two hours sailing, working together and developing their teamwork and sailing skills. When it was time to return, the boats raced back to shore, adding to the excitement of the activity. After sailing, the pupils changed and enjoyed a warm lunch of soup, a roll, chocolate, and a drink. The visit finished with a short walk along the shoreline before the group returned to school. The trip was a fantastic experience for the pupils, who showed great enthusiasm and teamwork throughout the day. #WeTHRIVEatCHS TKAT - The Kemnal Academies Trust

Chichester High School is proud to celebrate the achievements of our former student, Naval Airman Izzy Hunter, who has successfully completed Royal Navy basic training. Receiving this news fills us with pride, not just for Izzy’s dedication and hard work, but also as a reminder of the values and skills fostered here at our school. From the classroom to the Cadets, Izzy’s journey shows how the foundation built at Chichester High School can prepare students to achieve their dreams and overcome life’s toughest challenges. ********** Reflecting on her journey, Izzy says: I often think about how different my life might have been without my time at Chichester High School. At the time, it just felt like lessons, assemblies, sports days, and the usual pressures of growing up. But looking back now - after completing Royal Navy basic training - I can clearly see how much my time at school helped prepare me. Basic training tested me in many different ways. Although I didn’t find it overly difficult, some aspects of training did present a challenge. It demanded resilience, even when I was exhausted, and discipline when I was under pressure. It pushed me to my limits and strengthened my confidence whenever self-doubt tried to creep in. In those moments, I realised something important: I had been preparing for this long before I ever put on the uniform. I joined Cadets in the summer of 2020, not realising how much it would help me grow as a person. It taught me the discipline to turn up on time and take responsibility for my actions. Those habits became essential during training, where standards were high and even the smallest mistakes were noticed. Most importantly, my teachers and Cadet staff gave me the confidence to aim high by always believing that I could achieve great things. They may not have realised it at the time, but they were shaping far more than academic results. They were shaping my character and building the resilience, work ethic, and self-belief that help carry a person through life’s toughest challenges. Today, I’m proud to have completed Royal Navy basic training and to be serving in my dream role. But I’m equally proud of where my journey began - from having no clear sense of purpose to passing out on parade in front of the First Sea Lord. Many thanks Jess Brown-Fuller - great to hear our name being mentioned in the House of Commons. The Yondr system works by having each student place their mobile phone into a soft, lockable pouch at the start of the school day. Students retain possession of their personal pouch throughout the day, but it can only be unlocked using specific unlocking stations located at the school's exit points. In case of an emergency, students can request to have their phone unlocked by staff. "This isn't about banning phones; it's about creating dedicated, distraction-free learning and personal connection," Nicholas Taylor and Naomi Lewry added. “By removing the temptation of social media, texts, and notifications during lessons and break times, we anticipate a noticeable improvement in student engagement, deeper learning, and more meaningful interactions among peers.” #WeTHRIVEatCHS

Today at the Goodwood Education Trust Forest School, the students were busy exploring natural printing techniques using leaves and other plant materials. They collected fresh leaves, placed pieces of fabric over them, and gently tapped the surface to transfer the plant’s natural pigments onto the material. It was a hands-on activity that encouraged creativity and an appreciation for nature. The students also presented a plaque to the staff. At Forest School, we like to have a bit of fun each week by rating different services, so we created a plaque and presented it today. The staff were very pleased with it and shared it in their social media content too. #WeTHRIVEatCHS

Sixth Form Biology Required Practical 5: Heart Dissection In this practical, students carry out a controlled dissection of a heart to explore its internal and external structures. Under careful supervision and following strict safety protocols, they identify and examine key anatomical features such as the atria, ventricles, valves, and major blood vessels. This hands-on activity allows students to gain a deeper understanding of cardiovascular anatomy and physiology, linking theoretical knowledge with practical observation. This dissection is one of twelve required practicals completed throughout the two-year A-level Biology course, providing essential skills in observation, analysis, and scientific technique. Students are encouraged to document their findings with annotated diagrams and photographs to reinforce their learning. #WeTHRIVEatCHS #biology #heart

@chichesterhighsch TKAT ACE Ambassadors – Lily Trimm, Patsy Challen, Alex Calver and Sophie Pratt recently delivered an engaging and informative presentation to staff about the @tkatace programme. During their presentation, they clearly outlined the aims of the programme and shared a range of impactful statistics that demonstrated its success. They spoke thoughtfully about the barriers many students face and explained how the TKAT ACE programme works to address and overcome these challenges. The ambassadors also provided personal reflections on the ways TKAT ACE has supported them individually, highlighting improvements in their confidence and attendance, as well as the guidance they have received with careers and further education applications. They also spoke about access to valuable resources, support with revision, and the reassurance of knowing there is always someone available to listen. This presentation was a significant achievement for all four ambassadors, and they expressed great pride in being part of the TKAT ACE programme and representing it so positively. #WeTHRIVEatCHS @tkatacademies - The Kemnal Academies Trust

On the 28th January 90 students from Year 9 and 10 took part in the UK Intermediate Mathematical Challenge 2026. For the year 9 students it was a jump up from the Junior Challenge they took part in last year and the pressure was on. In the Intermediate level competition there are questions where incorrect answers result in marks being deducted so students have to be very sure of their answers. The 90 students gave it their best shot and 14 were awarded silver and 9 awarded bronze. On Friday 27th February all 23 were invited to have their certificates presented by the Co-Head Teachers. The photo shows some of them with their certificates. They were also presented with a badge that has been specifically designed and produced for our students. For some this is their second badge and they are keen to continue their collection again next year. After Easter it will be time for year 7 and 8 to take part in the junior challenge. In preparation for this set 1 students are invited to attend Challenge Maths Club on a Wednesday after school with Mrs Rogers. #WeTHRIVEatCHS
