CCF - South East Regional (LaSER) heats
On Sunday, 9th February, 14 cadets from the RAF Section of the CCF attended the London and South East Regional (LaSER) heats of the Royal Air Squadron Trophy Competition at RAF Halton. Our young team, led by F/Sgt Amy Chegwidden-Phillips, included four Year 9 cadets who have less than six months of experience. They have worked extremely hard over the past few weeks, dedicating their weekends to perfecting their drill routine, shooting skills, first aid knowledge, aircraft recognition, and space studies, as well as enhancing their leadership and teamwork in preparation for the competition.
This year, the LaSER heats featured 19 teams, with schools from this area often finishing in the top three at the national level. Chichester High School's 3rd place finish, which included 2nd place in Leadership and 2nd place in Drill, is an exceptional achievement. They can now count themselves among the top 15 CCF RAF Sections in the country and will compete in the national finals on 23rd March.
